From improvements in precision medicine and innovations in bioremediation, to the development of new devices and tools, the potential of what scientific and engineering leaders can achieve within these walls is unlimited. And it will be made possible by a facility built to have bridges rather than barriers.
This USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience will offer faculty across disciplines the support, infrastructure and equipment they need to address some of the most pervasive and pressing needs of society, including those not yet revealed. Together, they will:
- accelerate our understanding of organization, energy flow and communications within living systems;
- catalyze new knowledge and innovative solutions to solve grand challenges on a global scale;
- advance our ability to forecast future scientific and societal needs; and
- train new generations of scientific and engineering leaders to meet those needs.
